Marie
is Team Glacier's speed forward, usually the first to the puck and
the last to tire. A former college basketball player, Marie began
her hockey career seven years ago with several TG teammates on the
Chicago Ice. She is inspired and encouraged in the sport by both
of her hockey-playing children: 15-year old Quinn, a AAA midget
minor, and 12-year old Adelle, the only girl on her peewee gold
boys' team. An elementary and college level teacher/instructor,
Marie is the former drummer of Chicago's own Skapone, a local ska
band, and plays on coed ice and roller hockey teams. |

Though
she was sidelined with an ankle injury early in the season, Laura
is an original member of Team Glacier and a powerhouse defender.
After watching her brothers play hockey in south suburban Oak Lawn,
she started playing ice hockey when she was 8 years old. After six
years of boys' house league teams and all-star programs, she played
for two years on the boys' varsity team at Oak Lawn Community High
School. While still in high school, Laura began playing women's
hockey for fun at Southwest Ice Arena with teammates Sherry Dobson,
Monette McKinney and Sue O'Connor on the X-Factor. Currently, a
full-time nursing student at Moraine Valley Community College, Laura
enjoys running, roller blading, hanging out with friends and spending
time with her boyfriend. |

Kathy
joins teammate Jet Hall as Team Glacier's Big Ten field hockey players
turn ice hockey players. After coaching field hockey for New Trier
and Homewood Flossmoor high schools and a 10-year stint coaching
high school age prot»g»s in the US Field Hockey developmental program,
her hockey interests took a turn toward roller hockey. In 1994,
she played for a team out of Chicago run by Team Glacier teammate
Andrea Meenahan, Chicks with Sticks, that eventually won the national
women's inline hockey title two years running. After a reconstructive
knee surgery, she finally took to the ice and played for the Chicago
Flash, Inferno and now, Team Glacier. In her fourth year on the
ice, she's finally found the perfect mix of team unity and coaching
and is a proud representative of Team Glacier. Kathy is engaged
to a wonderful man and will be married in the summer of 2003. |

Sherry
answered an ad in a newspaper that was looking for players to join
the now defunct Chicago Rebels to start her hockey career. While
on the Rebels, she met TG goalie Sue (Gonzalez) O'Connor and they
played together for 5 years on the Rebels. The pair decided to form
a new team called the X-Factor and were joined by this year's TG
teammates Laura Costibile and Monette McKinney. Together on the
X-Factor, they made a mark on the women's hockey landscape for three
years. Last season, after the X-Factor disbanded, Sherry played
on the Chicago Inferno under coach Tim Kaspar. She has now joined
some of the best hockey players in Illinois on Team Glacier and
continues to play on various men's hockey teams. Sherry is a loan
coordinator for Ameriquest Mortgage Company. |

standout athlete, her competitive nature eventually led her to organized
ice hockey in 1995. Also an avid skydiver, our daredevil forward
became a world record holder, participating in the world's largest
all women's formation. The event was called Jump
for the Cause and raised a half million dollars for breast cancer
awareness. She also enjoys flying with her husband, Robbie, in their
airplane. Brenda can be found in her spare time playing ball with
her dog Quincy, feeding/watching wild birds in her yard and enjoying
her favorite band, Primus. Brenda is a Dental Hygienist at Great
lakes Naval Base in the northern suburbs. |

has been playing hockey since college when her friend told her about
a new club starting up on the University of Illinois campus. It
sounded really fun, borrowed some malfitting equipment and hasn't
looked back in 13 years. She founded and managed the Chicago ICE
and coached Lyons Township girls' high school team. These days,
Mary enjoys her new role as a hockey-playing mom, allowing her to
release her stress as a goon on the ice!! When she's not playing
hockey for Team Glacier or her men's team, she balances a career
as a sales rep and volunteers with her dog in an animal-assisted
therapy program at a rehabilitation hospital. Oh, and she also enjoys
a little time with her supportive, understanding husband!

Jet has
competed in team sports since the age of 5. She was a three sport
letter-winner in H.S. and went on to play varsity field hockey for
Big Ten Champions, Northwestern University. Jet was inspired to
try ice hockey after seeing the US Women "take gold" at the 1998
Nagano Olympics. In 1999 she met coaches Eric and Chad Schneider
who patiently guided her through the process of learning how to
play the sport that quickly became her favorite. After jumping from
a beginner team to an "A" level team in her first season, Jet continues
to enjoy the challenge of improving and working hard on her game.
She is thrilled to be skating for Team Glacier and for hockey mentor,
Eric Schneider. Jet lives in the city and owns a film/video production
company. |

Jen's
hockey career started way back in 1986 where, as a freshman at Wesleyan
University in Connecticut, she played four years on the varsity
squad then one year on the Boston University's club team. After
college, her career took the front seat and hockey got left behind
until 2001 when she resurfaced and played for Team Glacier's inaugural
season, then called Team Complete. As an Associate Commissioner
for the Big Ten Conference, Jen is pretty busy during hockey season
with travel for both football and men's basketball. When not at
an ice rink or with the bigwigs of the Big Ten, Jen spends her time
with the two most perfect dogs in the world, Julius and Laverne,
and her pals from TG. |

Andrea
is no stranger to ice hockey. Starting as a wee-tyke on the backyard
rink, Andrea played in boy's leagues in Zion, IL until a family
move took them to Michigan's Upper Peninsula at age 13. Once in
the small town of Laurium near the Canadian border, she played on
boys' teams till she joined the girls U19 Keweenaw Wings in Houghton.
From there, she played for the Michigan Tech women's team while
earning a computer science degree in December 2001. Upon graduation,
Andrea got out of Dodge and headed for Chicago, playing the tail
end of last season with the Frozen Snappers, with cousin Kelly Johnson.
Now on Team Glacier, she looks forward to playing a high level of
competition with fellow Snappers Brenda Culver and Cami Schoop and
the rest of Team Glacier's quality players. She often spends time
with her family of 14, refereeing ice hockey, or playing golf, softball,
racquetball, and fishing. |

she tried ice hockey, she was hooked. Today, she's not only a key

one of our forwards in the intricacies of the perfect game of racquetball.
In her spare time, Monette enjoys watching her boyfriend's band,

to say that she can still get up in the morning for her engineering
job at Lucent Technologies after late weeknight practices 35 miles

Mollie
remembers going to Minnesota North Stars games sitting in the best
seats of the house, behind the penalty box in row 6 where her dad
held season tickets for as long as she can remember. Nine years
ago, she finally laced up a pair of her brother's hand-me-down skates
and full equipment and took to the ice herself. When Minnesota became
the first sanctioned girls' high school varsity hockey program in
1995, she was a member of St. Paul's Lady also earning all-state
honors in soccer. While pursuing a pre-law degree at the University
of Chicago, she played both varsity women's soccer and ice hockey
and met futureTeam Glacier teammate, Jen Robinson. Currently, Mollie
coaches both a girls' soccer travel team and a girls' ice hockey
team stationed in Chicago's north side. With any free time she has
left, she can summarize her love life as this: "I'm from the state
of 10,000 lakes, and I've yet to find my true love in 10,000 dates." |

Meenahan is the cofounder of Chicks with Sticks Women's Inline Hockey
Organization, winner of four National Championships. Andrea's extraordinary
inline hockey career began while studying for her Master's degree
in Biomedical Illustration at UIC. Though she claims to have taken
up ice hockey to recruit more women to the world of inline, she's
stuck around through six full seasons, including two with Team Glacier.
When Team Glacier isn't dominating Andrea's athletic calendar, you
might catch her mountain biking, snow or water skiiing, snowboarding
or playing a round of midnight croquet with the rest of the Glacier
girls. Andrea works as a freelance medical illustrator and graphic
designer, and acts as creative director for forensic medical animation.
Her artistic hobbies include interior design, art restoration and
painting reproductions of old masters. |

After
sampling nearly every position in the game, Rita began perfecting
the art of goaltending about 5 years ago. A lifelong NHL fan, she
jumped on the opportunity to get in on the act when she discovered
a team willing to take on a beginning player. She credits former
Chicago Ice teammate Mary Gutowski with getting her started and
putting her in touch with a terrific goalie coach. In addition to
backstopping Team Glacier through its first two seasons, Rita plays
with the big boys on a Chicago men's league team. |

If
ice hockey didn't have a position like goalie, Sue probably never
would have bothered playing. The first time she went to an ice hockey
practice, she vowed that if she couldn't play in net, she wouldn't
play at all. Low and behold, her first team ended up needing a goalie
and her fastidious attention to the position started like a freight
train. Nine years, 3 WCHL All-Star picks and 2 USA Women's National
Tournaments later, she's made her mark as a blue chip goaltender
and major addition to this year's Team Glacier roster. Sue stays
sharp by playing with husband Bill on a men's team called
The Shamrocks. When not on the ice, she's a newsroom assistant
for Northwest
Indiana's Times serving 120 communities and watching pro football
with her husband. |

Cami's
early hockey experience mirrors that of many other Team Glacier
members. As a native of Northwest Indiana, an area without ice rinks,
she learned the game on frozen ponds and summertime tennis courts.
After a period in the early 90's playing competitive women's and

Since then, she's gotten married, bought a house and works as a

Cami spends her free time enjoying summer waterskiing and fishing
with her husband. |
